Red, like a brand in memory, —
MMXXVI
Red,
like a brand
in memory, —
Shameful,
but bright.
White
wants
to be
left alone.
Black
grabs
tight,
flooding
every thought
with an inky
beat.
Green
is out of reach:
it loves
quiet and
service.
Blue
washes
the Salt out of
Life,
thoughtfully
offering
whiskey.
And then
Everything will die,
will turn
grey, —
A dirty
palette —
One
Whole.
So what
was your
favourite
Colour? —
they'll ask
you.
You'll answer —
I could use
a bit more
time,
apparently,
I never understood
Myself.
